This
time around I was feeling ambitious. I've heard about
chirashi-zushi (jewel box
sushi), which is kind of salady as opposed to discrete
rolls and rice blocks with slices of stuff politely
laid on top. The recipes I found weren't complex, but
they did involve cooking a number of different little
things, so I had to be in the mood for it. Well, that
finally happened, and the result was better than I expected!
Not only is this snazzy-looking, it features a nifty
variety of tastes and textures that go together really
well. I did fudge a little, though - you're supposed
to use tuna or salmon sashimi, but I substituted what
I had on hand: smoked salmon.
And with this is another banana
egg roll.
Wanna talk
about it?
