Icon Take It Anymore!
and
Cursors! Foiled Again!

Here are some Windows and Macintosh icons libraries, and some Windows 95 animated cursors I have created. Feel free to download them and use them on your computer if you like 'em.

Instructions on using these are at the bottom of the page.

Thanks to cvwalker@gvn.net for creating the Macintosh versions of the Space Ghost/Cartoon Planet, Quack Pack, and Mighty Ducks icons, and to raiu@geocities.com for the Mac versions of the Manos icons!

Icons: Space Ghost & Cartoon Planet | Quack Pack | The Mighty Ducks | Manos:The Hands of Fate | Reboot
Animated Cursors: Dancing Brak | ReBoot

Space Ghost & Cartoon Planet

A set of Windows icons based on "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" and "Cartoon Planet".

A second set of Windows icons based on "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" and "Cartoon Planet", this time with outlines to make them easier to see them against light colored desktops.

And a set of Macintosh Icons based on "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" and "Cartoon Planet".

Quack Pack

A set of Windows icons based on The Disney Afternoon show "Quack Pack".

A second set of Windows icons based on The Disney Afternoon show "Quack Pack", this time with outlines to make them easier to see them against light colored desktops.

And a set of Macintosh icons based on The Disney Afternoon show "Quack Pack".

The Mighty Ducks

A set of Windows icons based on The Disney Afternoon show "The Mighty Ducks".

A second set of Windows icons based on The Disney Afternoon show "The Mighty Ducks", this time with outlines to make them easier to see them against light colored desktops.

And a set of Macintosh icons based on The Disney Afternoon show "The Mighty Ducks".

Manos: The Hands of Fate

Manos 16 color icons
Manos 256 color icons
Icons based on that most horrible of horror films, "Manos:The Hands of Fate"

There are two Windows icon libraries - one for 16 color icons, and the other for 256 color icons. You need a high color or true color monitor to use the 256 color icons. If your monitor only displays 256 colors, then these won't work.

New - I now have these icons in Macintosh format. Sorry, I don't have a screen shot of those.

ReBoot

ReBoot icons are on their own page because there's soon going to be too many of them to list here!
Each icon below represents an icon set.

How do I use these icons in Windows?

Download the file(s) you want, unzip it if it is in a zipfile, and put it/them in an appropriate directory. This will be /windows/system/, unless you have a specific directory for icon libraries.

All icon libraries except the "Reboot" icons and the second set of "Manos" icons are in 16 colors, which will work on any 256 color or higher display. The 256 color icons will only work with high color or true color monitors; on a 256 coloor display they'll look like garbage. Sorry, there's nothing I can do about that.

Now highlight the icon you want to change, and select "Properties" from the Program Manager "File" pull-down menu. Hit the "Change Icon" button, hit "Browse", and go to the directory you saved the icon file to. You probably won't find the icon library on the list of "icon files" because its extension is .ICL (icon library) as opposed to .ICO (single icon). Not to worry. In the "File Name" area type in "*.icl" (minus quote marks) and it will show you all the .ICL files. Select the file you want, press OK, select the icon you want, press OK again, and hit OK again to finalize your choices.

The above directions are for Windows 3.1. For Windows '95 and beyond you will start by right-clicking on the icon and selecting "Properties". From there the process is basically the same.

How do I use these animated cursors in Windows 95 & Beyond?

Save the cursors to your windows/cursors subdirectory. Then , under "settings",open your control panel, go to "mouse", then to the "pointers" tab. I suggest you use the Dancing Brak cursors as "waiting" cursors, because it can be hard to find the click spot when he's moving around.

I believe that these cursors will work under Windows NT and Windows '98, but I haven't tested them yet.
