I once had a pair of disgusting green galoshes. I wore them every day, rain or shine. One night my sister and I snuck into the old graveyard even though we were forbidden to do so. We spied a dead guy leaning against a tombstone. My sister dared me to touch him. When I walked over to give him a little poke, turned out he wasn't a dead guy at all, he was my weird uncle Sam. He said he was going to tell Mama what we were doing. I ... had to give him my green galoshes to keep him quiet.
